Career Professionals of Canada grants credential recognition through CPC’s Competency-Based Program for experienced and qualified career professionals. This competency-based route to certification is open to members of CPC who have a minimum of 1 year full-time (or equivalent part-time) paid, qualifying work experience providing employment consulting services. It is ideal for professionals providing career transition and job search services. To attain the CES designation, candidates must apply for and pass an online Qualifications Exam, which covers concepts from The Canadian Employment Strategist, Certified Employment Strategist eGuide.


The Certified Employment Strategist (CES) credential enhances your credibility and visibility as an employment consulting professional. It is ideal for professionals providing career transition and job search services. If you are an experienced professional, you can earn your Certified Employment Strategist (CES) by completing and passing the online Qualifications Exam. Applicant's have 1 year to complete the competency-based program.

To obtain and maintain your Certified Employment Strategist (CES) designation through the competency-based process, you must:


Join and maintain a current membership with Career Professionals of Canada.

Register and pay for the CES Qualifications Exam.

Pass the online CES exam with a minimum grade of 80%.

Submit a current copy of your résumé for verification of your relevant work experience.

Confirm that you agree to comply with CPC’s Code of Professional Conduct.
